The Ragdoll Cat Guide
What we have learned from living with Ragdolls, written down so you do not have to ask twice. The answer is in the first line of every post. Everything here comes from our own cats and our own litters, and every post links to the kittens available now.
The posts
How Long Do Ragdoll Cats Live?
Twelve to seventeen years, some reach twenty. Most of the difference is decided by the owner, not the breed.
Are Ragdoll Cats Hypoallergenic?
No. Nothing is. But plenty of people with a mild allergy live happily with one, and there is a way to find out before you buy.
How Big Do Ragdoll Cats Get?
Males thirteen to twenty pounds, females four to six, and it takes three to four years. A weight table by age from our own cats.
The Ragdoll Personality
The flop, the following, the quiet voice, the patience with children, and the four things nobody puts on a listing.
Do Ragdoll Cats Shed?
Yes, but less than the coat suggests. Two weeks in spring, three places that mat, and one comb.
A Ragdoll Kitten, Week by Week
Born white, blind and about three and a half ounces. Twelve weeks later, colored, litter trained and about three and a half pounds. Week by week, photographed here.
