Ragdoll Kittens for Sale in Michigan

Michigan is two travel problems in one state: the bottom half is straightforward, and the top half is a drive after a flight. It is worth knowing which half you are in before you plan anything.

How a kitten gets from Sedona to Michigan

Choose a kitten, call us, and say whether Detroit or Grand Rapids suits you. A $400 deposit holds the kitten. A flight nanny carries it in the cabin from Phoenix, about four hours to Detroit, and hands it to you at arrivals in the daylight, which matters here in winter.

Detroit and Grand Rapids

Detroit Metro takes several nonstop flights a day from Phoenix and is about four hours in the air; it serves the southeast, Ann Arbor, Lansing and the Thumb. Grand Rapids covers the west side and has less frequent nonstop service, so the date matters more. Traverse City and the north usually fly into Grand Rapids and drive, and the Upper Peninsula is genuinely far: most UP families meet the flight in Green Bay or Detroit and make a day of the drive.

Lake-effect snow is a road problem, not a flight problem

Airports in Michigan stay open through weather that closes the roads around them. That is why we aim for a daylight arrival: the flight lands on time and then you have an hour or two of driving on snow to do with a kitten in the car. An afternoon arrival in January can mean the last leg in the dark on unplowed roads, and that is the part worth avoiding.

A Michigan coat

The winter coat that comes in here is the full version, ruff and trousers and all, and it drops heavily in spring. Lake humidity in summer means matting is a year-round job rather than a seasonal one, so keep the comb by the sofa and use it while the cat is lying on you. Indoor heating from October to April is dry: water in more than one room, and wet food helps more than supplements do.

Why not just wait for a Michigan litter?

You can, and some families do. The wait for a specific color and sex from a small cattery is usually months, and the kitten that suits your household is frequently not the one that happens to be born nearby. A four-hour flight in the cabin closes that gap, which is the whole reason this page exists.

What it costs, and what is tested

$800 a kitten, every color and sex, with everything on this list. Travel is quoted for your airport and never bundled into the price. Both parents are DNA tested for HCM and PKD, the two inherited conditions the breed is known for. Every kitten leaves vaccinated and wormed for its age with the written record, seen by our vet, microchipped and registered in your name, and litter trained. Everything that travels with it.

Questions from Michigan families

01

I am in the Upper Peninsula. Is that workable?

Yes, with planning. Most UP families meet the flight in Green Bay or Detroit and drive from there, so we pick a landing time that leaves the whole drive in daylight. Tell us your town and we will work backwards from it.

02

Do you ship Ragdoll kittens to Michigan?

Yes. A flight nanny carries your kitten in the cabin from Phoenix to DTW, about three and three-quarter hours, and hands it to you at the airport. Or you fly to Phoenix, meet your kitten, and carry it home on your return flight.

03

Which airport should I meet the flight at?

Whichever is the shortest drive from your door. In Michigan that usually means DTW or GRR. Tell us which and the flight is booked to it.

04

How much is a kitten, and what holds one?

$800, every color and sex. A $400 deposit holds your kitten and comes off the $800. It transfers to another kitten if you change your mind about which one. If you cannot go ahead at all, $300 of it is refunded. Travel is quoted separately for your airport. What the price includes.

05

Are the parents health tested?

Both parents are DNA tested for HCM and PKD, the two inherited conditions the breed is known for. Our cats.

06

Can I drive to Arizona instead?

Plenty of families do. From Michigan it is about twenty-eight hours by road, and you meet the kitten, meet us, and take it home yourself. Either way nothing is paid for a kitten you have not seen photographed that day.

07

When can a kitten travel?

From 12 weeks, and never in the same week as a vaccination.
