Ragdoll Kittens for Sale in North Carolina

North Carolina runs from the barrier islands to the Blue Ridge, and the humidity changes more across that line than the temperature does. Charlotte and Raleigh make the travel easy; the coat care depends on which end of the state you are at.

How a kitten gets from Sedona to North Carolina

Choose a kitten, call us, and a $400 deposit holds it. A flight nanny carries it in the cabin from Phoenix to Charlotte in about three and three-quarter hours, or to Raleigh-Durham for the Triangle and the east, and hands it to you at arrivals.

Charlotte or Raleigh-Durham

Charlotte is a hub with frequent nonstop flights from Phoenix, about three and three-quarter hours, and it is the simplest handoff for the Piedmont, the mountains and the South Carolina line. Raleigh-Durham serves the Triangle and the east. Wilmington and the coast usually drive to Raleigh; Asheville families drive to Charlotte, which is about two hours and easier than connecting.

Coast, Piedmont, mountains

On the coast, humidity is the coat problem: comb twice a week and check behind the ears. In the Piedmont it is seasonal, worst in July and August. In the mountains it is closer to a northern climate, with a real winter coat and a real spring shed. Same cat, three different grooming rhythms depending on your zip code.

Moving house, and what that means for a cat

North Carolina has a large military population and a lot of families who expect to move within a few years. A Ragdoll travels better than most cats, it settles fast, and it is small enough to fly in the cabin with you. If you know a move is coming, say so when you write: it changes nothing about whether we will sell you a kitten, but it changes the advice we give you about the first year.

Summer afternoons move flights

Thunderstorms roll through Charlotte most summer afternoons and they delay more flights than winter weather does. Morning departures, every time.

What it costs, and what is tested

$800 a kitten, every color and sex, with everything on this list. Travel is quoted for your airport and never bundled into the price. Both parents are DNA tested for HCM and PKD, the two inherited conditions the breed is known for. Every kitten leaves vaccinated and wormed for its age with the written record, seen by our vet, microchipped and registered in your name, and litter trained. Everything that travels with it.

Questions from North Carolina families

01

We may be moving in a couple of years. Does that matter?

Not to us, and it should not stop you. A Ragdoll travels well and flies in the cabin with you. Say so when you write and we will give you the first-year advice with a move in mind.

02

Do you ship Ragdoll kittens to North Carolina?

Yes. A flight nanny carries your kitten in the cabin from Phoenix to CLT, about three and three-quarter hours, and hands it to you at the airport. Or you fly to Phoenix, meet your kitten, and carry it home on your return flight.

03

Which airport should I meet the flight at?

Whichever is the shortest drive from your door. In North Carolina that usually means CLT or RDU. Tell us which and the flight is booked to it.

04

How much is a kitten, and what holds one?

$800, every color and sex. A $400 deposit holds your kitten and comes off the $800. It transfers to another kitten if you change your mind about which one. If you cannot go ahead at all, $300 of it is refunded. Travel is quoted separately for your airport. What the price includes.

05

Are the parents health tested?

Both parents are DNA tested for HCM and PKD, the two inherited conditions the breed is known for. Our cats.

06

Can I drive to Arizona instead?

Plenty of families do. From North Carolina it is about twenty-eight hours by road, and you meet the kitten, meet us, and take it home yourself. Either way nothing is paid for a kitten you have not seen photographed that day.

07

When can a kitten travel?

From 12 weeks, and never in the same week as a vaccination.
