Ragdoll Kittens for Sale in Washington

Washington is a damp-coat state west of the Cascades and a dry-coat state east of them, and the advice for the two halves is nearly opposite. Seattle and Spokane are different climates wearing the same license plate.

How a kitten gets from Sedona to Washington

Choose a kitten, call us, and a $400 deposit holds it. A flight nanny carries it in the cabin from Phoenix to Sea-Tac in about two and three-quarter hours, or to Spokane for the east of the state. If a ferry is part of your journey home, tell us and we will time the landing around the sailing.

Sea-Tac, or Spokane

Phoenix flies nonstop to both. Seattle is about two and three-quarter hours and has service all day, which makes it the usual handoff for the whole of the west side, including Tacoma, Olympia, Bellingham and the Peninsula. Spokane serves the east and is about two and a half hours, with fewer flights, so the date needs picking earlier. Island and ferry communities add a leg: tell us if your journey home involves a ferry and we will plan the timing around it rather than leaving you to make a sailing with a kitten in the car.

A wet-coast coat

A damp coat mats, and in the Puget Sound winter a cat that sits near an opened door gets damp without ever going out in the rain. Towel the cat when that happens, and comb the trousers weekly rather than fortnightly. It is a small, dull habit that prevents the expensive kind of grooming appointment.

Dark winters suit them

Eight months of grey is hard on people and irrelevant to a cat that sleeps eighteen hours a day and wants a lap for the other six. If anything Ragdolls are at their best in a Washington winter: they follow you from room to room, they lie on whatever you are reading, and they are the most companionable cat in the house when nobody wants to go outside.

East of the mountains

Spokane, the Tri-Cities and the Palouse are dry and hot in summer and properly cold in winter, so the advice flips to the Arizona version: water in several rooms, wet food, and combing for dryness rather than damp. Same cat, different routine.

What it costs, and what is tested

$800 a kitten, every color and sex, with everything on this list. Travel is quoted for your airport and never bundled into the price. Both parents are DNA tested for HCM and PKD, the two inherited conditions the breed is known for. Every kitten leaves vaccinated and wormed for its age with the written record, seen by our vet, microchipped and registered in your name, and litter trained. Everything that travels with it.

Questions from Washington families

01

Do you time flights around the ferries?

We do. A kitten sitting in a car in a ferry line for two hours is a worse afternoon than a slightly later flight, so tell us the sailing you want and we will book backwards from it.

02

Do you ship Ragdoll kittens to Washington?

Yes. A flight nanny carries your kitten in the cabin from Phoenix to SEA, about two and three-quarter hours, and hands it to you at the airport. Or you fly to Phoenix, meet your kitten, and carry it home on your return flight.

03

Which airport should I meet the flight at?

Whichever is the shortest drive from your door. In Washington that usually means SEA or GEG. Tell us which and the flight is booked to it.

04

How much is a kitten, and what holds one?

$800, every color and sex. A $400 deposit holds your kitten and comes off the $800. It transfers to another kitten if you change your mind about which one. If you cannot go ahead at all, $300 of it is refunded. Travel is quoted separately for your airport. What the price includes.

05

Are the parents health tested?

Both parents are DNA tested for HCM and PKD, the two inherited conditions the breed is known for. Our cats.

06

Can I drive to Arizona instead?

Plenty of families do. From Washington it is about twenty-two hours by road, and you meet the kitten, meet us, and take it home yourself. Either way nothing is paid for a kitten you have not seen photographed that day.

07

When can a kitten travel?

From 12 weeks, and never in the same week as a vaccination.
